Scar Revision

Scar is a natural response of the human body to any form of bodily insult or injury. It could result from multiple causes, such as surgery, trauma, illness like infection ect.. Each person is unique, in the sense that each individual have different ways of healing capability, some would heal faster, while others would have better looking scar. This would depend on several factors like patient’s age, nutrition, body parts involved,  patient’s medical condition and others. We plastic surgeon usually give time for the scar to mature (usually 6 months to 18 months) before we suggest any procedure or revisions. The procedure would make the scar less noticeable or improve its appearance. Please bear in mind that scar are permanent, the most that we could offer you is to make it more inconspicuous.   This is done under local anesthesia at our out patient clinic.
