MINIMALLY INVASIVE SURGICAL REJUVENATION
Minimal invasive surgical rejuvenation can make your face look as young as you feel. It is particularly useful for younger patients where the removal of excess skin is not required. Its benefits include smaller incisions, minimal numbness, minimal scarring, less bleeding, less hair loss, and quicker recovery. These procedures can be performed alone or in combination with others. They can smooth out wrinkles, correct heavy lids and drooping brows, and lift sagging cheeks and chin, among others.

Botox® is the most common non-surgical cosmetic treatment performed today. Initially marketed for treatment of certain neurological problems, it was recently approved by the US-FDA for cosmetic use. It is effective, safe, and well tolerated. Botox® is one of the botulinum toxin type A approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). It is widely used to eliminate dynamic rythydes, or facial lines such as frown lines between the eyebrows, horizontal forehead wrinkles, and crow's feet or smile lines around the eyes.
The effect of Botox® is temporary, and it has to be repeated once the lines and wrinkles return to their natural state. However, Botox® has been proven to improve and enhance the effect of other treatments such as fillers and facelifts. By relaxing the underlying muscle, Botox® aids in getting a smoother texture from the other therapies. Botox® has also been found to prolong the beneficial effects of fillers.

As a result of ageing, sun damage, worry, gravity, and other environmental factors, our facial skin begins to develop lines and wrinkles. This is a manifestation of skin ageing. It is possible to smooth out folds and wrinkles using dermal fillers to give the face a more relaxed and youthful appearance. This is also used to augment specific parts of the face such as the lips. There are many types of fillers in the market these days, and it can be very confusing when deciding on the appropriate product to use. Some of the most famous dermal fillers in the market are: Restyllane, AQUAMID, and Matridex. The chosen filler material is injected into the lines and defects to plump them out and then remains in the skin where it binds with water to produce a lift and firmness to the treated areas. The filler material is introduced into the skin by a simple injection technique, usually without the need for local anesthetics. For example, facial contouring of the cheek and chin dimples can be achieved using dermal fillers to smooth out the hollows and alter the facial contour. The exact type of filler chosen will depend on the site of treatment and the degree of correction required.

These are unsightly vascular deformities with red to bluish hue under the skin. They are usually located at the lower extremities, particularly the knees, legs, and ankles. Women are notably more prone to develop this vascular malfunction or deformity. There are a lot of treatment options for spider vein such as laser treatment, support/compression stockings, and sclerotherapy. Sclerotherapy is the most popular treatment modality because of its lower cost and effectiveness. It is a simple office procedure that involves injecting a sclerosing solution which causes the vein to collapse and then fade from view after some time. This is performed with or without topical anesthetics (EMLA). Support stockings or elastic bandage are usually applied at the leg area to minimize swelling, bruising, and prevent the development of unsightly vascular lesions at the other areas of the lower extremities. Bruising and swelling eventually fade after one to two weeks.

Chemical peeling is the application of an exfoliating agent to the skin surface. The peeling agent could be applied alone or in combination with other dermal peeling agents. Chemical peel is used for various indications such as cosmetic and pathologic changes in the skin. It may address the fine lines of the face, pigmentary disturbances, actinic keratosis, solar elastosis, and solar lentiges. It may also improve and smooth out the texture of the facial skin by removing its damaged outer layers. Chemical peel is helpful for individuals with facial blemishes, wrinkles, and uneven skin pigmentation. Phenol, trichloroacetic acid (TCA), and alphahydroxy acids (AHA’s) are the agents used for this purpose. The precise formula used may be adjusted to meet each patient's needs. All chemical peels carry some risks, but it is normally a safe out-patient procedure when performed by a qualified and experienced plastic surgeon.
