Dimple assignment Dimple of the cheek skin is a soft tissue invagination that becomes prominent on facial animation or smiling. This is usually located lateral to the lip commisure. Some people find it aesthetically appealing and complements their facial profile. The procedure is usually done by creating a core biopsy incision inside the mouth. And then absorbable suture are use to plicate the skin and subcutaneous to the cheek muscle. This suturing technique in effect will produce dimpling on facial animation or smiling. The procedure is usually performed for 30 to 45 min, under local anesthesia with intra oral incision. Swelling and slight bruising will be noted after 24 to 48 hours that eventually subsides after 7 to 10 days.
