Buttocks Lift Surgery Skin laxity is the defining characteristic of patients who are candidate for buttocks lift, this could be caused by genetics but more frequently it is seen in patients who have gained and lost excessive amount of weight. This usually done with other procedure such as thigh lift or abdominoplasty. The procedure would involve the removal of excess skin and fat at the thigh and lower back area resulting to a tighter skin of the gluteal region. These results in an improved, more rounded, firmly shaped and toned butt and thigh contour. There could be some swelling at the immediate post-op period that usually subsides after several weeks to months. Sutures are removed on the 5th or 10th day after the procedure. This is done under general or regional anesthesia, with patient confined for a few days in the hospital.
