Botox

            Botox today is the most common non-surgical cosmetic treatment performed. Initially marketed for treatment of certain neurological problems and recently approved by the US-FDA for cosmetic use. It is effective, safe and well tolerated. Botox is one of the approved Botulinum toxin type A by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Its widely use for the elimination dynamic rythydes or facial lines such as frown lines between the eyebrows, horizontal forehead wrinkles and crow's feet or smile lines around the eyes.

            The effect of Botox is temporary and has to be repeated once the lines and wrinkles return back into their natural state. However Botox has been proven to improve and enhance the effect of other treatments such as fillers and facelifts. By relaxing the underlying muscle, Botox aids in getting a smoother texture from the other therapies. Botox has also been found to prolong the beneficial effects of fillers.
